What we do
Electrical work for every kind of building
From a failing panel in a Dripping Springs ranch house to three-phase power on a plant floor, the same licensed electricians do the work.
-
Homes
Panel upgrades, EV chargers, generators, lighting and repairs for Austin-area homes.
-
Businesses
Tenant buildouts, LED retrofits, maintenance programs and code compliance for Austin businesses.
-
Plants and facilities
Three-phase power, motor controls, variable frequency drives, machinery wiring and plant maintenance.
Why Malco
Electrical only. That's the point.
We don't do plumbing. We don't do HVAC. Forty years on one trade means the electrician who shows up is a specialist, not a generalist splitting attention across three.
It shows most on the jobs nobody else wants to diagnose, where the answer is a fault somewhere in the building rather than the fixture you can see.
Owner Randy Mallory has held a Texas Master Electrician license since 1972, and every job is done to that standard.
Where that depth shows
Work most Austin electricians refer out
-
Rural property and acreage
Well pumps, outbuildings, long service runs and properties on Pedernales Electric Cooperative.
-
Dock and marine
Lake Travis dock wiring, lifts and lighting, done to the code that applies over water.
-
Three-phase and motor control
Three-phase power, variable frequency drives and motor controls on a working plant floor.
What that looks like
A fault in the building, not in the fixture
-
What a specialist finds
An intermittent outage across four condo units turned out to be an arcing feeder cable outside the building. Diagnosed and repaired in an afternoon.
- The cause, not the symptom
- Explained in terms you can repeat to a neighbor
- No work proposed that the fault doesn't call for
-
What was proposed first
The same symptoms, looked at by a company that does three trades, produced a recommendation to rewire the whole unit.
- Tests run on the outlets and the wiring inside the unit
- A full rewire proposed before the cause was known
- The actual fault still outside, still arcing
Working with a family-owned, local home service company is really important to me, given all of the recent PE roll-ups, and resulting lower quality and price haggling. Randy and his crew are the seasoned, professionals I was looking for, who do things the right way and are priced fairly.

I'm the Director of engineering for Hilton garden inn Austin Airport location. ... They upgraded our parking lot pole lights with l.e.d. and WOW what a difference. These guys are the real deal, timely, professional, and very detail oriented. Best electric company by far that I've ever worked with.

Great work at a great price by Dean and Filipe. Got an EV outlet installed (NEMA 14-50) in the garage. They used #6 wire and a Legrand / Pass & Seymour 3894WREV outlet which is rated for EVs / continuous load.

How we quote
Every job is different, so every quote is too
Estimates are free. We walk the job, explain what we find, and put it in writing before anything begins.
Two things sit outside that, and we say so up front rather than at the end: tracing a fault is diagnostic work, and a whole-home inspection is the job itself. Both are quoted before we start.
No surprises on the invoice, and nothing added that the work didn't call for.
